Apparently AI has killed web design. So why am I busier than ever?
I’ve been building websites for 20 years and running an agency for 16. I use AI every day. But what I’m seeing on real client projects looks very different from what people are telling me on TikTok.
In this video, I look at what AI is actually doing to my job as a web designer: the rescue jobs, the hype, what businesses still pay for, and why generating a website isn’t the same as knowing what it needs to do.
There’s also a familiar feeling to all this. I’ve seen this film before. Last time, there were more pictures of monkeys.
This is my honest take from inside the industry. I could be wrong. I might be eating my hat in a year or two. But right now, my inbox tells a different story.
