Building a Secure Gatsby Website — Mike Gualtieri & Rodney Matambo, Gatsby

From building super-fast static websites to dynamic web-applications that handle sensitive data, Gatsby can do it all! Along with Gatsby Software Engineer Rodney Matambo and Gatsby Staff Security Engineer, Mike Gualtieri, take a walk through a variety of security tips and technical examples that will help make your next Gatsby project a secure one.

About Mike Gualtieri:
With two decades of experience in software and cybersecurity, Mike leads the security and compliance initiatives at Gatsby. He is also an instructor for the University of Pittsburgh School of Computing & Information, where he has developed curriculum and teaches the two capstone offensive security courses for the Professional Institute.

Prior to Gatsby, Mike ran a software product development and security consulting firm for a decade. Mike’s enthusiasm for security was apparent at a young age, when he decided to write a program to (weakly) password protect some of his 5.25″ floppy disks, only to discover that 20 years later he had to hack into his own files and discover that the secret password was ‘ninja’. 🥷 You can find Mike on Twitter @mlgualtieri.

About Rodney Matambo:
Rodney is a full stack engineer who is passionate about problem solving. Before landing at Gatsby as a Software Engineer on the Developer Experience squad, he’s worn many hats including as a teacher, school director, public speaker, VP of organizations, web developer, and software engineer. After working and living around the world for many years, he and his family now happily reside in Puerto Rico where he enjoys rooting on the OKC Thunder and Chelsea FC.
