In this video:

So given the current situation, I got back on the phones this week and made some cold calls and sent cold emails to find some web design clients.

This is the current method I recommend for cold calling/cold emailing at the moment (given the situation):

– Take the best past results you have gotten your clients (top projects etc)

– Focus on the part of those projects that is relevant and valuable right now (get specific and look at exactly what worked best)

– Find similar businesses that might have need of THESE solutions

– Reach out in a non-spammy way and see if they are open/interested/willing to take a look

– If they are interested do them up a full rundown of how you helped others AND why you think you can help them in the same way (why they should pay attention to what you can do for their business)

Email template used in this video:

“Hey ________,

I gave you a call earlier but couldn’t get through.

Just a very quick message – I am just about to send you a longer email but wanted to check in first.

Basically, I just finished helping out a ___________ business. He/she/they have a really similar set up to yours and we were working on keeping the school running (and growing) during this recent shutdown.

The plan ended up going really well (we got a bunch of new __________) which was great.

Why I was reaching out you was to send you over some more details about what we did that worked so well and see what you think. No big sales pitch – just a rundown of the project.

When I was looking for someone in ________ who could benefit from this approach you seemed like a great fit. If you are interested just let me know and I will finish typing it up today.

Thanks _______,

– Rob”
