I compare the most popular builders — Squarespace, Wix, Shopify, Square, Webflow, Framer, Hostinger, Carrd, and WordPress — and show how each one actually works. You’ll see how easy they are to use, how customizable they are, and which type of website each one is best suited for.
We start with Squarespace, one of the most popular general-purpose website builders. Then we compare it to Wix, which gives you more freedom but can be harder to make responsive. From there we move into Shopify and Square, two ecommerce-focused builders that handle online stores very differently.
I also try a few AI website builders to see if they’re ready for real-world use yet. Some are surprisingly good at generating designs, but editing through prompts is still clunky — which makes traditional visual editors like Squarespace and Webflow feel much more intuitive.
Next we dive into Webflow and Framer, the design-driven tools that give you developer-level control without writing code. They’re powerful but have a learning curve, which makes them perfect for designers, startups, and anyone who wants full creative freedom.
