We all know what it feels like when our site loses rankings—it’s not the best feeling in the world.
But the good news is, it happens to the best of us. Even the most influential domains experience ranking drops. With the ever-changing algorithms, we just need to keep optimizing!
And there’s an easy way to get the organic traffic back.
Just follow the three simple steps!
Step #1: Identify the drops in rankings
Use Google Search Console to compare your site’s traffic across the last three months. Check which pages had significant traffic losses.
Then check out if your website still satisfies the search intent for its main keyword.
It’s your task to decide whether you can keep covering the same search intent or whether you need to look for a new keyword to rank!
Step #2: Fix the errors
Audit your page! It’s best to use a dedicated tool, such as Surfer SERP Analyzer and its Audit feature.
Search for general errors, like word count or site performance.
Check out the keyword true density and start fixing the errors.
If you’re pressed for time, focus on optimizing words with relevance equal or above 70%.
Step #3: Add relevant entities!
Now, the only thing left is to add the words and phrases your website’s missing. Surfer Audit or Content Editor will help you check out how many words you need to add, and how much work you have left.
