Ever wondered how someone transitions from labouring on construction sites to leading an award winning web design agency? Last night, I had the honour of winning Creative Entrepreneur of the Year at the Véyaon Awards, a moment that made me reflect on how far I’ve come.
You’ve probably seen me talk about how I scaled my web design business to over 100 clients, but I haven’t gone too deep into the details. So in this interview I’m giving you the chance to get the full story so you can learn from my mistakes and copy me.
In the beginning I was rejected by agencies & laughed at by recruiters but instead of quitting, I found a gap in the market, learned to code custom websites (no WordPress or templates here 😎), and created a business that makes a positive impact on Guernsey and Jersey businesses. Now, we’re not just building websites; we’re solving problems for businesses and helping them make more money online.
So to summarise in this video I’m interviewed by my Creative Director Jade about how I grew Island Web Design to over 100 clients in just over a year, how I overcame the obstacles of having no experience or qualifications and the strategies I’ve used to remain consistent enough to hire 3 staff and continue scaling, if you can focus for 30 minutes you might be able to grow your agency quicker then I did
