This video discusses how to optimize your page for better Google rankings.
We will be playing around with the text on a page and presenting a better web page to your users and Google which leads to better rankings and increased organic traffic.
Input a keyword on Google you’re trying to rank for and open up your competition that’s #1 on the SERPs, then create something better than what you see.
Assuming you have created something that is better but Google does not recognize it as better, then we will look at what we can do with that web page to get significant boosts.
Of course there are many factors at play such as links and domain authority and more, but we will be solely focusing on the words that are written on the page and how this alone can bring significant ranking boosts.
The first trick to remember is that Google will highly the most relevant words to any query that is made… meaning, on the SERPs description of a page, you will see Google is bolding words that it deems relevant. This means you will definitely want to have these highlighted words somewhere within your text.
Here’s how I recommend people do it. Open up notepad and just start wringing down all the bold words that you see. Then go through your website to see if it mentions any of these keywords and if not, then be sure to add them.
The next thing to look at are the sub-headlines as Google gives those more priority. You want to use these sub-headlines wisely and incorporate some of these terms to add even more relevance to your web page.
An other alternative is to get your competitors text and plug it into Google’s Natural Language API. The tool breaks down the page into categories and entities. Entities tells us the words Google recognizes when reading the article. So if you are trying to rank your article, you want to add any entities that your page does not contain.
However, in this example, you can only plug in the text of one page at a time into Google’s Natural Language API. Ultimately, being able to see the entities for several pages in one go would be far more ideal and present a bigger picture of what these pages on the first page of Google are doing… and THAT is why at Traffic Research, we developed the Mega On-Page Tool to do exactly that with a click of a button.
