A site map is the first step to start on a web designing project. Especially, a project that will have many pages and subpages. You must create a sitemap and show to the client. So that you can decide the best budget and project should not have any miscommunication about how many pages needed, and which page will be under which page.
So sitemap is a flow diagram of the pages, linked with each other to understand the overall project.
