First of all, the editor itself didn’t impress me that much. It’s clean and modern looking, but apart from the “looks” and some coding options, there’s not much here, to be fair. While you have a drag-and-drop control scheme, you can’t put elements where you want. There are predefined areas or a grid and you have to work within its constraints. However, you can add custom code if you want to modify how your website looks or works manually.

What bugs me the most, is that there’s no way to undo some of your changes, you know like a ctrl-z. I guess I got used to these features with different builders, so this feels “naked” somehow.

What I did like is the element selection, you get a lot of them. From basic buttons to social integration, from Instagram to SoundCloud. You will find what you need here no matter what type of business you have.

You also get over 100 crafted designs to choose from. And it’s not the case where most of the templates are the same with just different color schemes. So Squarespace takes its templates seriously and tries to add new ones every year.

Talking about pricing, you can’t publish a website without subscribing to SquareSpace premium plans. Not even on a subdomain. Overall, the pricing is fair, it’s not for everybody of course. For a business website, it can be much cheaper than hiring a programmer to build a website from scratch.

Squarespace is a great business website builder, it’s not cheap, so it’s not for simple projects. The builder is simple and lacks a few features for my taste. Overall, It’s a premium-priced website builder that’s great for any business website.
