Portfolios and blogs are cool ways to share your content in Squarespace, but they aren’t the same! To help you figure out the best option for your Squarespace website, I created this quick video to explain the similarities and differences so you can pick the right one for your website.
Here is a recap of what’s covered:
Both blogs and portfolios have pagination, nested URLs, advanced social share and SEO options, and thumbnails.
Blogs can have comments, author data, tags, and categories which can be helpful for your overall site SEO and your visitors! Blogs can also be scheduled in advance, drafted for approval, and have unique excerpts and links to sources.

Portfolios can’t have comments, tags, or categories, or be scheduled in advance, BUT they do have one awesome feature that blog’s don’t. Page sections!!
That makes portfolio projects MUCH more customizable than standard blog posts. In the video you’ll see where you can add a page section to a project and the portfolio collection page.
