What is the difference between Squarespace and Square?
I get this question all the time from people that are just starting out with their business and looking to build a website or accept payments online. The fact is that Squarespace and Square are two completely different platforms. Squarespace is a website builder; it is the tool that you use to build your website. They have beautiful templates, it is really easy to use, it is inexpensive, you can sell products on there- its a website builder.
Square, on the other hand, is a payment processor. It is what you use to accept credit cards and debit cards and gift cards in your store, or on your website. These are two totally different things but they can be connected in some way so you could theoretically build a Squarespace site and link to your Square site where you can accept credit cards. That is possible, though Squarespace does have a built in payment processor called stripe. If you would like to learn more about the difference between Squarespace and Square, check out our blog post.
