Don’t get me wrong, I love the desktop because as a professional web designer, it gives me more room to play. But the reality is that some websites drive 80% of the traffic through mobile.
So it’s about time professionals started thinking with a mobile first approach.
Mobile first is not new, but what is new is the fact that mobile is now the king. Yet sometimes we spend 80% of our time building for the desktop, which (like in the example above) may only account for 20% of the traffic.
There is no rule set in stone here: it really depends on several factors like the target market, the audience, the products or services, etc.
