We cover building a website for a business. This is a real website project and I cover all the steps for you on how to make a small business website from scratch. When making this business website I took the following steps:
– Approached the business in person and offered to build a new business website for free. I covered this in a previous video.
– Used the “Sartre HTML theme”. I also covered this in a previous video but I set up a basic one-page layout suitable for a web design project like this.
– Went to the business in person and took photos and videos. I also have a prepared list of questions that I asked in person so I could have accurate information for the website content.
– Edited the photos and video, and did the content in English.
– Had a friend (Luis Rivera – thanks) translate the content from English to Spanish.
– Presented the site to the clients, they were extremely happy.
The purpose of making this business website for free was to be able to use this site as a portfolio example to help grow a new web design business. Having real website projects (and the results they created) is a great first step in starting a new web design business.
