The day has finally come! We are ready to start our WordPress website build!
We are going to build the site with the Elementor plug-in. Elementor is a page editor. There are additional plug-ins available to allow editing of your header and footer with Elemntor. But we are not going to use them at this time.
Elementor is a page editor that works in conjunction with WordPress and requires a theme to operate.
There are a number of free and paid themes available through WordPress, Elementor, your host company and various other places.
We are going to use Ocean WP theme. It is a free theme available through WordPress.
Our goal is to completely build a new website from the ground up, on a blank web page. Before we can begin building the site with Elementor, we will need to configure some settings to create a layout and to customize the menu.
This video will walk you through how to:
1) Configure Permalink setting
2) Download, install and activate Elementor
3) Download, install and activate Ocean WP theme
4) Clear out all auto generated pages and content
5) Create and configure new pages to utilize Elemntor
6) Add New Pages to menu
