I have several friends who have used Wix to create their websites. In a nutshell, Wix is cloud-based web development platform, also called website builder, that enables anyone to build a websites and mobile sites through using drag and drop tools.
As a web designer myself who has worked with 50+ startups and uncountable businesses over past 12 years, I personally prefer to build websites from scratch to create something highly customised to cover the business needs and to work effectively towards the business goals. A website builder for me was always associated with limitations and sacrificing quality. Having said that, I’m all about hacking stuff together. Especially for startups where every dollar counts, building your own website with a sitebuilder, can help you immensely in the early days of your startup journey. And, since not everyone is a web designer or has access to a web designer, I thought it might be a handy thing to check out how far you can get by using the Wix website builder.
In this video, you will see me using Wix for the first time to test the level of difficulty for first time users. Besides doing a Wix review, I created this video to give you a step by step tutorial on how to use Wix for creating your website, I also included helpful tips and tricks on how to communicate your brand and business to the world and your customers.
